  1. Jennifer, this is a wonderful post with lots of good advice. In regards to your bedroom door creaking and waking up the baby have you tried spraying WD-40 on the hinges?😊

    1. I’d use silicon, or liquid graphite: it is better at squeaks caused by dampness. WD40 will make those types of squeaks worse, according to a maintenance guy at work.

    2. Hi there! Unfortunately, it isn’t the hinges, it’s the wood rubbing against the frame. Ben has shaved some of the door down, but it swells and shrinks with humidity. It doesn’t squeak too badly in the winter. You’re such a mom! Ha!
